I was born and raised in Cleveland County. I graduated from Kings Mountain High School and attended Appalachian State University and Belmont Abbey College for my undergraduate work. I received my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. For the first 6 years of my teaching career, I taught English and coached volleyball and cheerleading at First Assembly Christian Academy (3 years) and Hope Christian Academy (3 years). I came back home to Kings Mountain High School where I taught English and coached cheerleading for 6 years. I continued teaching English and coaching cheerleading at Burns High School. After my first year at Burns, I became an assistant principal and have been in that role for the past 5 years.

I LOVE to read! I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan, but I love to read all kinds of literature. I love music! Playing the piano is my ultimate stress reliever (besides chocolate)! I am honored to be the worship leader at my church, East Gold Street Wesleyan Church in Kings Mountain. Singing and playing the piano are two of my passions; I love to get my praise on! I love animals! I have Noelle, a rescue cat from Animal Control, who thinks she’s the boss! I am that person who will scoop up a bug and set it in the grass so it doesn’t get stepped on! Yep, that’s me! I love going to Hilton Head in the fall with my family! I also enjoy playing tennis (when it’s cool outside) and watching movies—especially Hallmark Christmas movies!

I am beyond excited to be a part of the crew here and can’t wait to see the awesome things our students accomplish this year! The staff is unparalleled! We work hard, we wear multiple hats, we support one another, we have a passion for students, we will stop at nothing to see them succeed, we help our students build character and cultivate a strong work ethic, we collaborate and compete, WE ARE CREW!
